social responsibility
Lyric Social Responsibilities Initiatives (LSRI)
Lyric labs, has grown rapidly over recent years by working language translation and content localization services for companies around the world. It has inherited a wide range of management approaches to addressing sustainability challenges.
The focus of our effort since its inception has been to identify best practices and areas for improvement. In the process, we are developing a new Sustainable Development Framework across the company supported by a consistent set of corporate social responsibility (CSR) policies. Lyric Labs has initiated a team within the company to form LSRI and drafted schemes.
Making a difference
LSRI means investing part of our profits beyond business, for the larger good of society
Teaching ‘sustainable livelihood’
The footprint of our social work today straddles over small villages, reaching out to most deserving, under privileged and below the poverty line People annually. Our community work is a way of telling the people among whom we operate that We Care
About LSRI
LSRI supports socially constructive, self-help projects, giving preference to those having a long-term and a multiplier effect. Lyric Labs supports non-governmental organizations, particularly community based developmental organizations that identify and implement practical solutions to the problems of poor health, Child education, medical facility in rural areas and environmental challenges. We believe that, in Malaysia Child education is of paramount need. And by supporting the development process people are able to help themselves enhance the quality of their own lives.
LSRI Chief’s message
Social Responsibility is central to the core values we adhere to in Lyric from its inception. Our Company has not only been proactive on compliance to regulatory requirements but have had a far sighted vision in ensuring sustainability in business processes; restoration of rural schools, rural medical facilities, etc.
In the recent years, our Company has marshaled these strengths together more consciously to institutionalize all this through the Lyric Social Responsibility Initiative (LSRI).
The chief aim of this effort is to mitigate risks arising out of environmental & social factors; improve the quality of life of the people in the communities we serve; and, innovate ways in which technology and managerial competence reach the underserved.
Our Focus
Our focus is on the all-round development of the communities around our City, mostly in distant rural areas and tribal belts. Projects are planned after a participatory need assessment of the communities around the city. Each project has a one-year rolling plan, with milestones and measurable targets. The objective is to phase out our presence over a period of time and hand over the reins of further development to the people. This also enables us to widen our reach. Along with internal performance assessment mechanisms, our projects are audited by reputed external agencies, who measure it on qualitative and quantitative parameters, helping us gauge the effectiveness and providing excellent inputs.
Our partners in development are government bodies, district authorities, village panchayats, School authorities and the end beneficiaries — the children and villagers.
Lyric Language Centre
LSRI as a part of its student program equips deserving engineering students every year with a foreign language. The centre identifies students of engineering colleges in and around Kuala lumpur and conducts programs to identity the students. Once the students are identified, LSRI sponsors them to join a language course in a reputed institute like Goethe institute, Alliance Francaise, Italian trade chamber, etc
This program helps these students when going abroad for higher studies, internships or for jobs.
The purpose of Corporate Sustainability is to create ‘collective value’ for enhancing Human, Natural, Social, & Financial capital. LSRI seeks demonstration of accountability to all employees and supports a systems orientation to achieve sustainability and So, Lyric Employee is about role models who lead by example, and develop motivational means to inspire people around us and other associates of our business in order to give our business a lasting and competitive edge.
